IC Xat/Skype

I forgot to mention this, but we do now have an IC Xat/Skype. What are these? Say you are in an OOC RP on the skype or xat, and you really like how things turned out. If you want to save this meeting, you can essentially use the IC Xat/Skype template system to do that. Such as two characters had a long meeting, a brief scarp was held or relationships were formed.

New Staff Trial Members

Alright, we're finally getting down to business with this whole adviser scenario. Basically, we've hired Blank/Moose/ Imakuran to be trial advisors for the next week to see how they handle these positions. Moose will be a Trial Head Advisor, Blank will be a Full Trial Advisor and Ima will be in a Trial-Council Position as we see how he handles staff. Hopefully they'll be able to deal with it.

Activity/Intro/Video

Intro & Slidebar Code Coming

Alright, I've been working on a little code to show/hide the sidebar. I should be unveiling that sometime in the next week and I've been tinkering with it today to see how it would look. Seems pretty functional to me.

Next on the agenda, I may try to change or remove the current system of Activity Check's after the last one of this year in December.

Possible Activity Check Overhaul

Being that we all are growing older, and activity check shut out member who might not have all the free time in the world, I may try to do a delivery system to alert people when they are inactive. Essentially, if a person hasn't posted within that month, in anything, we'll consider them inactive and then start throwing people out.

Meanwhile, to simplify things a bit, we'd just make a thread where all people would need to do is make a "shout out" post to ensure that their stuff wouldn't be archived and it would be more voluntarily; such as in the case with people like UHCM who we know are active, but haven't posted in activity check.
 
As when I was clearing out some stuff in the Demon Section, I noticed I could just PICK and CHOOSE which ones I knew were active and which ones I knew weren't active off the top of my head; like with Elendril leaving the site.

Henceforth, a major change may come about in that.

Potential New Youtube Video
At some point in December, I may to release a new Promo Video for PH. (No promises) I'll make likely be making a sign-up thread and although I'd PREFER it be characters from the Australian War Arc, I will accept others. I just feel that this war taking place on the site is something worth making a video over as opposed to random characters.

Gotta Pay Yo Dues

OY VEY!
You all should be PRETTY happy today. You know why? I ended up paying off a 33 dollar bill to get our domain renamed so we could keep www.platinumhearts.net as our prefered address. Without that, in 41 days, they were gonna shut it off. So today is a good day in that recommended as I used that money to get our own email addresses, the domain renewed and I got us a pretty nice toolbar to use on the site that seems to be getting food feedback.

I also ended up adding in the Australia War Event-Sign Up on the right sidebar under Site Events. This is to make it easier to find. Alongside that, it should be noted I placed Crow's staff image back up and will be working on Luda's as well.

All in all, today was a very beneficial day for Platinum Hearts. I also hope to pick up speed a bit in the event over the following week, and everyone should be preparing themselves for the Of The Year Contest coming up next month. It's gonna be pretty huge like it is everyday; so you better get those last good threads in before the 15-20th of December rolls around.

Using The Blog Again

Sorry I've neglected this blog for about, what, a year? Heheheheh, I'm gonna start using it again and more often from this point onward so we can get better news updates for the site. - The Frost

Alright, apparently there is a major problem going around with forum motion servers. As a result, we are going to need to sit tight and endure through it. However, there are some methods you can use in order to possibly bypass this. I'm not quite sure what is going on myself, as I haven't had a single issue with the forum in the past few days, but if you are having conflicts getting on the site, please try these techniques out.

1) Clear your browser cache and delete cookies.
2) Close your browser.
3) Restart your modem / box / ADSL box.
4) Open the "Start" menu on your computer, write "cmd" in the search and open the proposed application (! Open the application as administrator on Vista!), Type "ipconfig / displaydns", validate, then type "ipconfig / flushdns" and press well.
5) Try to reconnect to the forums.
6) If it does not work, change the DNS of your connection (How to do).

Power Tier & Rule Changes

Alright, if you haven't noticed by now, we are making slow, but steady updates to the site. Yesterday, the power tier & rules were revamped a bit and we are hoping everyone has had a chance to view them.
